number 6

Gang Gang I guess. Apparently my family thinks I speak and sound like a gangster so thats new, haven't got that one before. But anywaysss, whats up y'all, hope you are all doing good because I am. I'm not even gonna lie this week went by so fast.

Friends
Yes sirrrr! Your boy here made 9 friends this week!  Sheesh we be cooking out here. It isn't crazy  numbers but compared to the one friend we made last week I will take anything we can get. Plus since we only look for Spanish speakers it makes it that much harder.  It was really cool to see the success we had after having a very unsuccessful week.  I don't know how solid any of them will be but hey, its the effort that counts, we can't force them into anything.

Todays miracle!
Today was a long p day and was kinda mid. We had a zoom meeting with the whole mission for an hour and a half this morning and then we went shopping. After that we spent the rest of the day at the church... literally. I played 3 1v1 basketball games, 4 pickleball matches and some ping pong. All while calling family in between lol. Let me tell ya, it was a long day and I am gonna be so sore. However tonight since we have to go back to normal after 6pm, I was so tired and hungry I didn't want to go finding, like at all. I just had a horrible attitude about it to be honest.
However, I prayed about it on the way to our first apartment complex for a better attitude for the night and overall week because I know if I don't have a good attitude the weeks going to be super long. Anyways we pull up to the complex, and we see this guy smoking a cigarette in the parking lot and holding some beer.  He looked like he spoke Spanish so we were like hey letletss just go invite him to church. Well... lets just say God answered my prayer.
When we started talking to the guy he threw his cigarette and we taught him a little about the book of mormon and got his number and he seemed super interested. He opened up to us about his situation saying that he was super lonely here because all his family lives in Vegas and he doesn't know a single person here. He also said he's been wanting to come back to God to help his life and he was glad we invited him.  I think he could be super solid and eventualy be  baptized, we'll see tho. Super cool tho and a really humbling experience to know God is looking out for me and put me through that experience knowing it would give me a way better attitude.

FUNNY
Ya so funny story for you. I knock on this guys door and say the usual thing... "Hey hows it going, were just going around sharing messages about Christ". The man instantly asked me what I knew about Christ and the Israelites haha. Long story short, the dude tried his hardest to convince us that God and Jesus are black and we were just sitting there saying like home boy... it really doesn't matter what color he is. haha. But then he told us that everything we believe and have been taught is false and I was like alright you didn't gotta say all that, like I thought we were chill. He also brought up the point how we think black people are cursed. It was crazy all the stuff he came up with. He asked us who is gonna be saved and we were like oh we think everyone will be saved, his response, nope only black people and we were like ohhhh gotcha. So God created all of us to only save black people... interesting. But ya we were there for like 20 minutes and he didn't let us say anything, he kinda just yelled at us until his wife kicked us out because she could tell it wasn't going anywhere. Anyway, God loves all of His children and it don't matter what color He is.haha.

Gayball
Not a good name for the game but it works. On Halloween we had to go in early so we had a party with 8 Elders in one of their apartments and ate pizza and played games. Me and Elder Baker accidentally came up with a game but it was so fun. Basically you pitch the ball by golfing a tennis ball over home plate (blanket) and the batter hits it with a tube of tennis balls. It's a 1v1 btw. The rules are the same as baseball, same count, same outs, but you can throw the ball at the person to get them out to. Keep in mind we are playing in a tiny apartment living room so lets just say were very fortunate nothing broke haha. I won btw. We played 9 innings and I won 13-11, almost lost it in the 9th but I pulled through. But ya you would have to aim to hit the ball behind the kitchen counter so you could make it cuz we play home runs only... obviously. But ya super fun game, wouldn't recommend playing in an appartment but it was a good memory haha.

Spanish
The Spanish isn't really coming a long. Today and yesterday I was feeling good. I think I'm up to about 30% understanding whats being said and prolly about 50% being able to say what I want to say haha. That kinda sums up how my Spanish is coming. Difficult but won't hold me back thats for sure. I know that even tho I probably make myself look like an idiot, the spirit is present whenever I teach in Spanish and it's really cool to be apart of. It also helps that the people here are so patient with me and usually understand that I'm new and still learning.

Overall week...
I don't have time to tell yall about everything that happened and I wish I could but I know what ititss like to read an essay of an email haha. The week was good, we had a lot of meetings and things we had to go to which I think helped pass the time but also surprises me how we made so many friends. Miracles I guess. This week i've seen so many blessings in my life and it's just really cool to see how even though it can be hard sometimes, it's totally worth it. Most of the time I love it here but sometimes it's hard but those are also the times I become closest with God.
Love you all and see you next week.
JP$ Out! (Ya that was cringe but I'm not deleting it)
