Kent, WA

Hola mis amigos! Holy cow its been an eventful past 2 weeks. I'm starting to regret not writing an email last week because now there is so much I want to talk about so hopefully this email won't be to long. Anyways lets begin...

The last week at the MTC was a blast! We did a challenge where you can only speak Spanish for the last week and a half.  That was interesting because my roommates didn't even speak the same language but it all turned out good. Saying goodbye to Elder Lloyd was really hard for me. The night before he left I went to his room and we gave each other blessings, and then said goodbye and I'm not gonna lie I could not keep it together that night. It was definitely a hard one. Then the next day had to say goodbye to some of the coolest dudes. Shout out Elders... Croft, Schurtz, Mackey, and Brown, yall were real ones. Anyways that was also hard but I didn't cry lol. That day was tuff tho because I didn't have any of my boys to hang out with. I did have my comp, Elder Cook. Shoutout to that man too for putting up with me and being the best first companion. Also that day we had a devotional and Emily Belle Freeman came and spoke to us so that was pretty cool. None of the guys knew who she was but I did lol my mom loves her. lol
I really enjoyed my last night at the MTC though. My roomates Elder Cook, Christensen and Calderwood were the best roomates I could have asked for. I wont lie at the beginning I was disappointed I wasn't in the same room as my district but looking back at it, I wouldn't want it any other way. I made so many good memories with those guys. The next morning, Cook left at 4:30, Me and Christensen left at 5:30am, and Calderwood left at 6:30 and we all met at the airport for about an hour before we flew out and had some fire panda express at 10 AM lol. It was tuff to say goodbye to them but I know they will do great things.

My flight... oh boy. So basically I get on the plane, we get on the runway ready to leave and then we started smelling something. Basically to keep it short we had to go back, unload, and wait for a plane from Orlando to pull up and so my flight got delayed by 4 hours so that was strange sitting in the airport with a bunch of missionaries but it was chill. Got some jamba to so thats awesome.

Landed in Seattle
When we landed in seattle, BTW the flight here was insane with the mountains and stuff, anyways we went to baggage claim and met The Gadberries and they seem pretty cool. Then we went to the MP's house (Mission Pres) and ate dinner and then went to a hotel where we stayed the night. In the morning we worked out, had breakfast, and then went back to the MP's house for a short little orientation type thing. After that we went to the mission office and that's where we met our trainers. My trainer is Elder Bailey and he's cool. He treats me really good but also gives me a lot of responsibilities so that I can pick things up quicker.

Appartment
Every time you walk through our front door it smells like weed. My appartment is nice a cozy lol. The kitchen is kinda small but its got everything we need. Fridge, oven, mirowave, stove, dishwasher, sink, waffle maker, ya so thats lit. One thing that is kinda annoying is that our fire alarm beeps every minute cuz the batteries need switched but we've just gotten used to it at this point. In our complex there are a total of 8 missionaries so we go over to their rooms sometimes and its a lot of fun.

Area
Ya bois first area is in Kent. Me and my comp are the only Spanish Elders in the Kent area so that's pretty chill. I love it here, all the trees and the sunsets. It doesn't rain as much as people said but it still rains. Always stay strapped with an umbrella!

Mi Mision
Holy Cow what is going on. Lol. That basically sums it up. Literally right as I got here we went shopping and then ate and then went out knocking. We handed out a Book of Mormon on my first door even though it was English.  We drive a good amount but also do a lot of knocking and face a lot of rejection but it's all good.

Idioma
Oh man...spanish is mad hard. Every conversation we have I just smile and nod my head. Can't understand anything but it'll come. My comp will be talking and i'll just be sitting there and then the person will like stop talking and look at me and all I'm thinking is "oh no, that was a question" and so I panic and either say "Si" or "bien" lol and i'm never right. But after some silence my comp will tell me what they asked and then I can respond. The people here are super nice about it tho. I think they are just happy i'm trying to learn.   Members and friends are super patient and help me with words I don't know. I would say language is definitely the hardest part as of now but we will see what other struggles come up.

Comida
My food situation before today wasn't great. When we went shopping I had no idea what to buy so all I've had to eat for the past week was yogurt for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch, and then either a member meal or something random. Thankfully the Samoans blessed us with a ton of food after language class on Saturday. We were leaving and they stopped us and gave us tons of chow mein, fried chicken, shrimp, beef, fruit, ham, all that good stuff. But today I bought chicken nuggets and pancake mix so I'm chillin now haha.

Crazy relations
I found out that I am probably going to have a lot of connections with people out here. We had a meeting last night with the Stake President  and someone from the Stake council or whatever and if anyone knows the liechty's let me know. Well I'm not sure what her maiden name is but the wife said she's from Othello and asked me if I knew the Eppichs so that was cool. Also my branch president is from Pasco so thats lit.

Funny/Crazy
Ya so someone got shot the other night. We were leaving a lesson with our friend Angel who is planning to be baptized soon and right as we left we hear 3 loud gunshots and then as we got in our car and drove away 5 cop cars came flying by. Also me and my comp went over to another Elders room last night and tried dumping ice water on him while he was in the shower. He was not in the shower so he walked out and they were like trying to  dump it on each other and ya it got all over their apartment so hopefully they wiped it up haha. We also had a guy tell us it was our bed time at like 8:00pm but little does he know we don't have to go to bed till 10:30pm. lol

Ya so sorry for the extremely long email, I have a lot of energy and my brain is turning rn cuz I just drank a monster for the first time in like 7 weeks so that was the best thing ever haha. Anyways I yall are doing great because I'm loving it so far... besides the spanish part. See yall next week.
