Week 3 in the MTC

Hey guys, what a week it has been. I'm not gonna lie the first few days after p-day always go so slow but I think thats just because I have to get used to being a regualr missionary again lol. However once I made it to saturday the week started flying by and now I can't believe that I am a month into my mission. Only 23 to go haha.

Volleyball/Sports
Ok I think I found the sollution to making your week fly by, Play as much sports as possible. Technically you are only supposed to play 1 hour a day and you can play 2 on your p-day. Howeverrrr they don't actually have a way of checking how long you've been playing for so some days I play for 3 hours straight. I've found that if you get on the right court, some people are actually insane at volleyball. I just play setter but I'm usually on one of the best teams. I think this past week alone I probably played around 12 hours of volleyball because we can't play on sundays or tuesdays because we are just to busy. Anyways its super fun and competitive and it actually makes me feel like I have a life lol.

Devotional On Tuesday

On tuesday we always have a general authority devotional and this week it was Elder Matswathata from the 70. Holy cow tho he gave an insane talk. He told the perfect combination of jokes, stories, and spiritual thoughts. I genuinely think it was one of my favorite talks I have heard in a while. After the devotional we always have testimony meetings with our district. One thing that a kid shared that I thought was funny was that he was kind of dissapointed he got called to somewhere in the states (california) and how he has been working hard to be completely happy about it and whatever and I was just sitting there like alright buddy, I ain't even leaving my state, like what you complaing about haha. It's funny when I tell people where I'm serving and their always like oh thats cool and then when I tell them where I'm from they always ask, "Is that even possible?" Or they say "in your home state, how does that make you feel?" It's kinda funny to be honest

My Español

Ok good news, my spanish feels like its getting better every day. Some days it definetly feels like I dont learn much but then other days it feels like my spanish is going really good. Yes, I'm aware no matter how much I learn I'm still gonna be lost when I get out to the field but I know God will help me. One thing that is kinda funny is that every night when I'm writing in my journal, I always write in english but since I'm always thinking of english words and translating them to spanish, I'll look back on what I wrote and some of it will be in spanish and I'm like what the heck just happened. But I guess that could be a good sign... hopefully lol.

My MTC Experience

I'm not gonna lie the first week here was pretty rough but I was still glad to be here. The second week I genuinely did not want to be here because it felt soooo repetitive, which it is but still. However this last week I've started to love this place so much. I don't know if it's because of the volleyball which it probably is but last week was great. My spanish was feeling better and I think we've found the best route to have the most freetime haha. Most lunches we just get sack lunch so we don't have to be in the stinky cafeteria with 1000 other missionaries in it. So it's defiently nice to be able to switch things up and not eat in the cafetiera, plus it gives us more freetime.

Spiritual Thought

I don't have a crazy spiritual thought that I  can think of right now but all I can say is that God really does answer our prayers. When I was struggling here and wanted to leave I prayed alot for God's help to not only have a better attitude but also change my outlook on my mission. After looking back on this past week I realized that God really did answer my prayers and not only did my attitude change but I don't think I'm ready to leave in two weeks. I mean by that time I probably will be ready but right now I'm chillin.

Rain

Oh my gosh how am I going to survive in seattle. One of the days it down poured on us  on our way to class and everyone got soaked. I even had a rain proof jacket on and my pants were a completely different color when I got to class but at least I had a jacket with a hood. The other guys in my district were dripping wet when they got to class and it was so funny. I realized that I hate rain but I love how it feels and looks after it stops. So it will defintely be interesting to see how I get used to all the rain in seattle.

Sorry this email is a little late but I'm doing good. I'm really loving my roomates and my district. They are definetly a big part of my MTC experience and they help me want to be here. I'm so glad I get the oppurtunity to serve the Lord for 2 years and I'm excited to see where it takes me. Thanks for all the support and I will hopefully write another email next week lol.
